METAL-TO-METAL STATOR ENGINEERING

YOUR PRODUCT. YOUR ROTOR. OUR STATOR MANUFACTURING EXPERTISE.

Build your own Metal-to-Metal (MtM) positive displacement motor (PDM) and progressive cavity pump (PCP). EC-Profile provides specialized, high-precision stator manufacturing and cycloidal design support to OEMs seeking full control of their product line and rotor supply chain.

THE STRATEGIC REALITY

“THE STATOR WAS ALWAYS THE CHALLENGE.”

In progressive cavity systems, the rotor is generally the more accessible component to manufacture. CNC rotor grinders and multi-axis lathe turners are standard tools in many OEM facilities.

However, the long, accurate, complex internal helical profile of the Full-Metal stator is the barrier that prevents OEMs from launching their own Metal-to-Metal product line. Standard mechanical broaching cannot cut multi-meter hardened steel tubes without severe tool deflection and breakage.

“What would you design if the stator were no longer the limitation?”

EC-Profile closes this gap: we manufacture the internally profiled stator to exact tolerances, allowing you to produce the rotor, assemble in-house, and capture recurring component margins.

DEDICATED OEM MANUFACTURINGStrategic Position

RELATIONSHIP WITH FULL-METAL-POWER

Full-Metal-Power offers complete developed Metal-to-Metal power-section systems. In contrast, EC-Profile operates as a dedicated contract engineering and manufacturing partner located at Orionweg 55 for OEMs who want to build and own their proprietary systems.

Lower Recurring Component Cost

Control your own assembly and rotor manufacturing instead of purchasing finished third-party power sections.

100% Retained Intellectual Property

Your rotor geometries, customer branding, and proprietary modifications remain strictly yours under full NDA.

ELASTOMER-FREE RELIABILITY

ZERO ELASTOMER. SUPERIOR THERMAL & CHEMICAL RESISTANCE.

By eliminating organic rubber liners, downhole motors and PCP pumps operate reliably in conditions where elastomers fail within hours.

THERMAL CAPABILITY

Field-tested up to 330°C (laboratory tested up to 500°C depending on material). Resists extreme geothermal gradients and thermal recovery wells (SAGD).

CORROSIVE FLUID IMMUNITY

MtM ideal for aromatic hydrocarbons, supercritical CO2 injection, nitrogen gas (N2). Sour H2S gas that typically cause rubber swelling and explosive decompression can be applied with a special additional metal treatment.

NO RUBBER SWELLING & DECOMPRESSION

No rubber swelling. By eliminating the elastomer it also eliminates the most frequent failing factor in a power section. During rapid depressurization or gas entrainment, gas trapped in elastomer pores blows the rubber apart (chunking). Solid metal stator bores eliminate this catastrophic failure entirely.

OEM COLLABORATION

HOW WE PARTNER WITH OEMS ON MTM

OPTION 1Direct Execution

BUILD-TO-PRINT MTM STATORS

Your engineering group has finalized the rotor/stator cycloidal design and clearance tables. Send us your prints and CAD. EC-Profile manufactures the difficult internally profiled stator in single continuous lengths up to 6.0 meters.

OPTION 2Co-Development

DESIGN + MANUFACTURE PARTNERSHIP

You want to develop a Full-Metal pump or power section, but need kinematic support for conjugate cycloidal profiles and downhole thermal clearance matching. We assist geometry design and produce the stator, while you machine the rotor.

TECHNICAL FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT METAL-TO-METAL STATORS

Metal-to-Metal (MtM) power sections have demonstrated exceptional operational success in Thru-Tubing intervention, workover, and milling applications. For high-abrasive drilling environments, EC-Profile supplies precision internally profiled stator tubes as engineered substrates, enabling OEM partners to test, qualify, and apply their proprietary wear-resistant and anti-friction coatings on consistent ECM base geometries.
